Venue requirements for a humanoid robot
Last updated
A humanoid robot needs a flat, dry floor area of about 3 × 3 metres, a standard power point nearby, and indoor or covered space. Tell us about stairs, lifts or tight access in advance. Most New Zealand function rooms, conference centres, hotels and marquees with flooring work well.
Floor space and surface
Plan for a clear area of about 3 × 3 metres where the robot performs, with room for guests to gather around for photos. Hard floors, carpet and staging all work. Avoid loose rugs, cables across the floor and steep ramps.
If the robot is on a stage, let us know the height and how it's reached, so we can plan access.
Power
A standard New Zealand power point within reach of the robot's waiting spot is enough. We bring what we need from there.
Indoors or covered
The robot needs to stay dry. Outdoor events are fine under a marquee, a covered deck or a veranda. New Zealand weather changes fast, so plan a covered back-up spot for outdoor events.
Access and loading
- Where we can unload and how far it is to the room
- Stairs, lifts and doorway widths on the way in
- Bump-in and bump-out times set by the venue
- A quiet spot near the room where the robot can wait between sets
Health and safety
Many New Zealand venues ask suppliers for a public liability certificate or health and safety information before the event. We provide our insurance certificate and talk the venue through how the operator manages the space around the robot.
Questions
Can the robot go outside?+
Yes, under cover. It needs a dry surface, so a marquee with flooring, a covered deck or a veranda works well.
Can the robot use stairs?+
Tell us about stairs when you book. We'll plan the route in, which may mean using a lift or a different entrance.
Do you provide a public liability certificate?+
Yes. Every booking includes public liability insurance, and we send the certificate to venues that need it.
